Personal Injury Attorney Robin M. Nagel

Robin M. Nagel

Robin M. Nagel is an experienced personal injury attorney who is admitted to practice in Virginia and the District of Columbia. She joined Marks & Harrison in 2022, bringing her deep background in oral and written advocacy, strong grasp of courtroom procedure, and tireless dedication to serving her clients.

Robin recognizes how an injury can affect nearly every aspect of a person’s life. She is committed to providing clients with consistent and open communication, meticulous and thoughtful case preparation, and clear guidance at every step of their case.

“I can’t overstate the importance of empathy in personal injury work,” Robin says. “Being able to listen and be kind but also honest. And a little bit of tenacity to get our clients what they deserve.”

Experience and Background

Before she joined Marks & Harrison, Robin served as an Assistant Attorney General in the Criminal Appeals Section of the Virginia Office of the Attorney General, primarily handling cases before the Court of Appeals of Virginia. The role gave her experience in managing complex case records, developing persuasive legal arguments, and advocating in high-stakes legal proceedings.

Earlier in her career, she gained valuable insights into the legal profession while serving as a judicial law clerk in the Fairfax County Circuit Court.

“[It] gave me an amazing view of the litigation aspect of my current work, from the filing of a complaint and motions to discovery and trial,” Robin says. “I saw all types of attorneys that I was able to learn from, and I learned so much from the judges presiding over motions and trials.”

Today, Robin draws on her background to help our clients navigate the legal process with a solid understanding of what they can expect. She knows how to thoroughly investigate complex accident and injury cases and skillfully pursue the full and fair compensation they deserve.

Education and Honors

Robin earned her Bachelor of Arts in English, magna cum laude, from Seton Hall University, where she also completed minors in Criminal Justice, Philosophy, and Sociology.

During college, a pre-law career course introduced her to different practice areas and attorneys in New Jersey and convinced her that pursuing a career as a lawyer would be the right path.

“I found that I enjoyed being an advocate — for a cause, for myself, and for others. I began exploring possible career paths, and law seemed like an area where my skills would be put to use and where I could thrive,” Robin says.

She went on to earn her Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, with an Intellectual Property Concentration, from the University of Richmond School of Law, graduating in the top 25 percent of her class.

As a law student, Robin completed internships in multiple practice areas, helping her build a broad understanding of legal advocacy and sharpen the practical legal skills that she uses today to serve our clients at Marks & Harrison.

Life Outside the Office

When she is not practicing law, Robin enjoys long-distance running as well as relaxing at home, exploring trails by the James River, and hiking in Virginia’s state parks with her rescued hound dog, Hamilton. She also enjoys trying Richmond’s many fine restaurants, breweries, and distilleries with her friends and family.
