Leslie is a personal injury lawyer for Marks & Harrison, representing accident victims and their families throughout Virginia, Maryland, and Washington DC. With nearly 20 years of legal experience, her practice includes car accidents, motorcycle wrecks, truck/tractor-trailer collisions, bicycle accidents, and pedestrian accidents. Leslie also handles complex matters involving wrongful death, traumatic brain injury, catastrophic injury, and premises liability.
What makes Leslie a valuable part of the Marks & Harrison family is the perspective she brings to every case. Before representing plaintiffs, she worked as a defense attorney with GEICO Staff Counsel. Her experience on both sides gives her insight into how insurance companies evaluate and defend injury claims. Leslie now uses that knowledge to help people facing medical bills, uncertainty, and an insurance system that may not treat them fairly. She also knows that the it-takes-a-village mindset is crucial for success in litigation.
“When you’re hiring an attorney, you’re typically not just hiring that one person,” she explains. “You’re also hiring their mentors and their peers. That’s why it’s important to have a firm like Marks & Harrison that’s been around a long time and that’s trusted in your community.”
From the beginning of a case, Leslie works to make clients feel heard and supported. Regular updates help them understand where the case stands and what comes next. Her determination matters most when a claim is complex or the process takes more time than expected.
“I tailor my approach to meet each client’s unique needs by understanding that they are in a unique situation,” Leslie says. “It’s getting to know them, having conversations with them, and listening to what they have to say. They’re usually in a pretty impossible situation when they come to me, so helping them get to the light at the end of the tunnel is the most rewarding.”
In their 5-star reviews, many of Leslie’s clients say they were able to move through difficult moments knowing they had committed advocates like her on their side. That combination of communication, persistence, and support has helped people navigate challenging cases and reach successful outcomes.
The following are some of the things her satisfied clients have said:

“99 percent of law firms in VA are intimidated by complex accidents except Marks and Harrison. I was always updated throughout the case. They work with you in every aspect. No lawyer would take my case because it was one of the most complex, difficult cases ever. I had the luck to have the smartest lawyer … Leslie Dalton from Marks and Harrison … Unbelievable. Thanks so much, you are the best.”
