Marks & Harrison is pleased to announce that attorney John C. Shea was recently named a Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America, an invitation-only national trial lawyer honorary society limited to 3,500 Fellows.
The Litigation Counsel of America (“LCA”) selects Fellows based upon “effectiveness and accomplishment in litigation, both at the trial and appellate levels, and superior ethical reputation.” The society is composed of less than one-half of one percent of American lawyers.
The LCA’s purpose is to recognize deserving, experienced and highly qualified trial and appellate lawyers; to provide an outlet for scholarly authorship of legal articles on trial and litigation practice; to promote superior advocacy and ethical standards in the practice of law; to assist in community involvement by its membership; and to advance a superior judiciary by taking relevant positions on issues or legislation affecting American litigation processes.
John C. Shea is a graduate of Wake Forest University and the University of Richmond School of Law who has focused his practice exclusively on representation of injury victims and their families since 1977. His special interests are traumatic brain injury and tractor-trailer accident cases. John is highly active in several state and national legal organizations, including serving on the National Advisor Board of the Association of Interstate Trucking Lawyers of America. He also served as President of the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association and as State Delegate for the American Association for Justice. He holds the highest Martindale-Hubbell® Peer Review Rating.™
