James
G. Harrison III has been practicing law since 1984, concentrating
on personal injury.
He is a 1976 graduate of Woodberry Forest School. After graduating
from the University of Virginia in 1980 (St. Anthony Hall TILKA
Ribbon Society), he received his J.D. in 1984 from George Mason
University School of Law. He has been with Marks & Harrison
since 1984. He is currently President and Managing Partner of

After graduating from the University of Maryland, he wrote

John grew up in Hanover County and attended Patrick Henry
High School in Ashland, VA. After graduating from Virginia Tech,
he went directly into law school and graduated from the T.C.
Williams School of Law at the University of Richmond. John worked
as a legal assistant for four years while he was attending school.
He was also a clerk for Judge Melvin R. Hughes in the Circuit
Court of the City of Richmond.

J. Penn Crawford
Penn Crawford joined Marks & Harrison in March of 2007. Penn began his legal career at a Richmond law firm where he handled criminal and civil litigation, including state appellate work and federal litigation. Jeffrey A. Foster
Jeffrey A. Foster joined Marks & Harrison in 2011 working in the Charleston, WV office. Mr. Foster graduated Cum Laude from the University of Pittsburgh Law School. from 1990 until 1998. He represented the Virginia Transportation

Gregory S. Hooe
Gregory S. Hooe is a 1977 graduate of the University of Virginia. He received his J.D. from the University of Richmond and was admitted to the Virginia State Bar in May 1980. Before entering private practice, Greg was a Law Clerk to the Chief Staff Attorney of the Virginia Supreme Court. James Mick Kessel
James Mick Kessel is an experienced trial attorney who has dedicated his practice to representing the interests of injured persons and criminal defendants. Mr. Kessel grew up and attended school in Charleston, WV. After graduating cum laude from West Virginia University in 1999, he received his J.D. in 2002 from the University of Richmond School of Law. Mark S. Lindensmith
Mark Lindensmith comes to Marks & Harrison after having served for over 27 years as a research director and senior attorney at the National Legal Research Group, Inc., one of the nation’s oldest and largest legal research firms, located here in Virginia. He has specialized in personal injury, health law, insurance, and torts. During that time, he supervised or prepared briefs, pleadings, and reports in literally thousands of personal injury, wrongful death, and insurance cases, and he has advised other attorneys nationwide in the preparation or defense of their personal injury and torts cases. Many hundreds of those cases arose out of Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina and Maryland. Bridget N. Long
Bridget N. Long has been in practice since 1998, representing plaintiffs in civil actions. Bridget grew up in South Boston, VA and graduated from Halifax County High School. Dean C. Marcus
Dean C. Marcus is a 2001 graduate of the University of Richmond T.C. Williams School of Law and a 1996 graduate of Gettysburg College. Dean has been with Marks & Harrison since 2008. An experienced trial attorney, Dean has tried cases throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia as well as in Federal Courts. Dean has argued cases in front of the Court of Appeals of Virginia and the Supreme Court of Virginia. Brandon C. Martin
Brandon C. Martin is a 1969 graduate of Washington and Lee University, receiving a B.S. in Commerce and Business Administration. He received his J.D. from Washington and Lee University School of Law in 1972 and was admitted to the Virginia Bar that September. Kevin

Lori L. Ryan E. Wind
Ryan E. Wind joined Marks & Harrison in August of 2010 and focuses his practice on the representation of the injured.
Ryan grew up in Tappahannock and graduated from Essex County High School. He graduated magna cum laude from the University of Mary Washington in 2005. He also graduated magna cum laude from the University of Richmond T.C. Williams School of Law in 2009 and was a member of the McNeil Law Society. While in law school Ryan completed an internship at Marks & Harrison and clerked for Judge Richard Taylor of the Richmond Circuit Court.
